Camco submits first progress report as UN Global Compact signatory
Camco today submitted its first Communication on Progress (CoP) to the United Nations Global Compact since becoming a signatory in April last year.
The UN Global Compact encourages businesses across the world to follow sustainable and socially responsible practices. As a signatory, Camco has included the UN Global Compact’s 10 Principles covering human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption into our strategies, policies and day-to-day operations. We also report on the impacts of our activities – including on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals – in our annual reporting.
The CoP is seen as being at the heart of a business’s commitment to the UN Global Compact, and serves as a company’s public disclosure of its responsible business practices.
Our report includes a statement by Camco’s Managing Director Geoff Sinclair, a description of practical actions the company has taken or plans to take to implement the 10 Principles in each of the four areas and a measurement of outcomes, including Camco’s carbon footprint for 2019.
Geoff said: “This is a proud moment for Camco, in which we are able to communicate to our stakeholders and to the wider world our progress against the 10 principles, which lie at the heart of the UN Global Compact, and to publicly renew our support for them.”
